JOURNEY TO THE END OF THE WORLD
- Coffee Table Book Design
- Book Cover Design
To conceptualise and design a minimalist coffee table book for well known entrepreneur, J.R Tanti documenting his photography and travel experiences to Antarctica, Iguazu and Patagonia.
Now that's travel. I mean, Antarctica.
This project was an absolute pleasure to design as the theme was inspired by the client's stunning photography and the locations in itself. Sifting through the many images of surreal white icy landscapes, led us to naming the book, 'A Journey to the End of the World'.
Goosebumps. Sorry, shivers.
We selected some of the best visuals from the hundreds that were clicked during his trip and divided the book into 3 sections based on the locations. The dividers were designed as minimalist visual cues to the region using colors and simple sans serif typeface.
Now minimalist design doesn't just mean lots of white spaces.
In this case, the visuals had to take precedence. We created multiple layouts with images of varied sizes that allowed us to draw out focal points from every photograph thereby engaging the viewer. Minimal quotes and content were used through out the book purely as descriptive guides.
We highlighted and used minimal color corrections during the image editing process as the original pictures were rich and pristine themselves.
The client also provided us with a personal letter sharing his unique experiences of the trip which we used to end the book with.
That said, now I need to travel.
