In the heart of upstate New York, Raven Crest Botanicals is a herbal apothecary crafted by passionate herbalist Susanna Raeven. Each handcrafted, herbal remedy and skincare treasure echoes a love for Mother Earth.
Guided by fellow herbalist and Brand strategist, Justin Ancheta, a realization struck - the existing in-house branding, lacked the cohesive visual appeal needed to elevate the products.
Enter Artisticodopeo—commissioned to reimagine and redesign, the brand's logo, identity, and product labels.

Holistic Harmony: Raven Crest's Healing mission
Raven Crest Botanicals, at its core, aims to bring holistic herbal remedies to the community, healing the body, mind, and spirit.
The brand practices sustainable, organic farming, and wildcrafting, expressing gratitude and wisdom in every step.
Botanical Branding: Bridging Tradition and Dynamism
In collaborative discovery calls, the focus was on creating a dynamic brand that honored Susanna's roots in botany and herbalism.
The existing logo, featuring a lotus and white raven, held deep meaning and had strong recall value.
We decided to retain its earthy essence with slight refinements in colors and logotype.
Logo Redesign: Unveiling the circle of life
After exploring multiple concepts, the decision was made to keep the primary logo with new colors and typefaces.
Additionally, a secondary logo, encapsulated in a circle, was designed to create a visible distinction.
This circle represents Mother Earth and symbolizes the Circle of Life, with the white raven at its heart surrounded by a lotus in full bloom.
Herbal Branding: Overcoming design challenges in small Labels
Addressing varied small product label sizes and adhering to government regulations on font sizes posed insightful challenges.
The focus was on creating a consistent visual design brand hierarchy while ensuring readability.
Floral Harmony: Embracing Lotuses and Leaves
I carefully curated illustrations of lotuses and leaves, weaving them as purposeful focal elements around the product title.
This artful integration not only makes it stand out but also means we don't need a separate box for it.
Functional Design Approach: Master Templates for Hand-Pasted Labels
Given the personal touch of hand-pasting each product label on the farm, we opted for practicality.
By creating 5 to 6 master templates, Susanna or her team can effortlessly edit and print product names and details.
This not only provided flexibility for new or seasonal products but also aligned with the brand's philosophy of minimizing waste.
Visual Harmony: Guiding the Brand Language
Guided by the newly created brand design guidebook, the cohesive brand visual language incorporated the new logo, illustrations, colors, and fonts across stationary, packaging, and promotional materials.
Iconic Support: Specially Curated Icons for a Unified Brand
A set of carefully curated icons were sourced and refined to support the brand across product labels and the upcoming website.
