Mumbai’s nightlife has its usual suspects, and then there’s DJ Rajiv. The guy who turns house music nights into memory-making rituals.

He needed a logo that didn’t scream for attention but still managed to walk into the room like it owned the playlist.

Clean. Minimal. Instantly readable.

And yes, this mattered because in a sea of wildly illegible DJ logos, legibility itself becomes the flex ;)

The Deal

Create a typography-driven brand logo for a well-known Mumbai DJ.

Design a logomark that's minimal, modern and clean.

Has to stand out even when half the crowd is looking at it through club lighting haze.

Legibility was non-negotiable. (Honestly, long overdue in this category.)

The Dope Process

A clean typographic identity might sound like the obvious route for a DJ, but that’s exactly why it wasn’t.

When everyone is shouting with stylised text, the real challenge is saying more with less.

That’s where the fun began.

Shaping a Typographic style that cuts through Mumbai’s DJ Scene

Most DJs lean on their monogram because it’s fast, flexible and familiar.

Which is exactly why I pushed the idea further instead of taking the easy lane.

The name had rhythm.

The letters had personality. And Rajiv’s mix of techno discipline (computer tech brain) and house-music soul gave me the perfect cue: design something precise, but with a groove.

Crafting a minimal DJ monogram that blends tech precision with music flow 

I fused the “D” and “R” together, not as a gimmick, but to show his two worlds meeting: digital clarity and musical flow.

The “J” held both roles in its stride, tying the name together without fuss.

The “V” took on a check-mark form, giving the logo a quiet wink: “Yep, you found your DJ.”

And that little full stop? A punctuation moment that gently suggests the search ends here.

No neon megaphone needed.

Making a club-ready logo that works on posters, merch and late-night lights 

The bold, single-stroke structure made the logo perfect for merchandise, posters, stickers and even quick hand-rendered versions for club promos.

Nothing fussy. Just a mark that behaves well no matter where you throw it.
